California Wildfire Rages in Melting Climate Crisis Cauldron
The efforts of China to respond to the Tibet earthquake are being referred to in the raging debate in the US in the wake of the Los Angeles wildfire. “The U.S. has spent trillions on war instead of public infrastructure. Los Angeles relief has been a disaster. China has spent zero on wars and trillions on public infrastructure,” said the US-based journalist Danny Halphong. He also stated that “earthquake relief in Xizang (Tibet) has been rapid and effective”.
Lin Jian, spokesperson for the China MFA, said in a post on X that “disaster relief efforts are progressing rapidly and orderly in quake-hit areas of Xizang, with 224 resettlement sites set up to provide 47,500 relocated residents with shelter, hot meals and daily necessities”. In the US, the Trump supporters are slamming the Democrats for reduced budget of the fire department in California.
China alternative in global supply chain begins taking shape
The Chinese MFA also spotlighted the deployment of technology in response to the Tibet earthquake. “In quake-hit Xizang, a drone illuminates the night sky, guiding people to safety and providing a sense of security during pitch-black night. Impressive tech innovation and a great boost to disaster relief,” Hua Chunying added in another post on X.
Donald Trump Jr, son of the US President-elect, said that “this (Los Angeles Fire) has nothing to do with climate change and everything to do with Democrat incompetence and woke DEI policies that have failed their constituency for far too long”. “Here is President Trump three months ago on the famous Joe Rogan episode talking about how California refuses to build water reservoirs and manage their forests to prevent wildfires,” junior Trump said while sharing a video clip of the podcast with Rogan.
