Hemant Soren Launches ‘Students’ Voice’ Campaign for Jharkhand Exam Reforms

Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren invites students to suggest reforms for JPSC and other recruitment examinations, with focus on transparency, technology and preventing paper leaks.

Ranchi, August 9, 2026 — Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has launched the Students’ Voice – With Students” campaign, seeking suggestions from students across the state to make the education and competitive examination system more transparent, secure, technology-enabled and accountable.

In a post on X, Soren addressed the youth of Jharkhand and said reforms could be achieved only through dialogue and meaningful participation from students.

“I have always believed that reforms come through dialogue, and dialogue is incomplete without your participation,” Soren said.

The Chief Minister said the dreams of millions of young people in Jharkhand were a major responsibility of the government. He stressed that when a student spends years preparing for an examination, not only their future but also the hopes of their entire family are at stake.

Soren said making the education and competitive examination system transparent, fair, reliable and timely remains one of the government’s priorities.

Focus on JPSC and recruitment examinations

Soren said vital sectors including education, health, social security, commissions and employment had not received adequate institutional strength for years.

Instead of ignoring these challenges, he said, the state government had acknowledged them and started implementing reforms.

According to Soren, his government has prepared new regulations for the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and other recruitment examinations to make the processes more transparent and accountable.

He also highlighted strict legal provisions aimed at protecting the sanctity of examinations and preventing incidents such as question paper leaks.

Soren said the legislation had faced criticism when it was introduced, but maintained that the interests of honest students remained the government’s priority.

‘Jharkhand should show the path to solutions’

The Chief Minister said examination-system challenges were being faced by several states across the country.

“At such times, our effort is that Jharkhand should not just discuss problems but also show the path to solutions,” he said.

Soren invoked the state’s history and said Jharkhandis had traditionally faced difficult circumstances with courage. Referring to the COVID-19 pandemic, he said the state had overcome a major challenge together and could similarly create an example in examination reforms with the cooperation of students.

More employment opportunities for youth

Soren also said the government was working to provide more employment and opportunities to Jharkhand’s youth.

He said several reforms had been introduced in recruitment processes and reiterated the government’s commitment to protecting the interests of local youth under the principle of “Jharkhand First.”

“Today, 25-year-old Jharkhand is entering a new phase. This is not just the government’s journey, but a shared journey of all Jharkhandis,” Soren said.

He added that the youth would have the most important role in making the state’s next phase successful.

Students invited to submit suggestions

Under the “Students’ Voice – With Students” campaign, Soren has invited students from every district, block, college, university and coaching institute to submit suggestions about the examination system.

Students have been asked to share:

• Shortcomings they see in the existing examination system.
• Suggestions for improving the system.
• Personal experiences of problems faced during examinations.
• New ideas or solutions that could improve recruitment and competitive examinations.

Soren said every suggestion would be studied and examined by experts. Wherever possible, the government would seek to implement suggestions within the stipulated time frame and in accordance with rules and constitutional provisions.

He said the campaign was not merely about examination reform but also about restoring the trust of Jharkhand’s youth and protecting the aspirations of millions of families.

The Chief Minister urged students to participate in the public consultation campaign and register their suggestions through the Jharkhand government’s portal at [samvad.jharkhand.gov.in](https://samvad.jharkhand.gov.in?utm_source=chatgpt.com).
