RSS Samanvay Baithak Begins August 19: What’s on the Agenda?

The three-day RSS Akhil Bharatiya Samanvay Baithak from August 19-21 will bring together representatives of 32 Sangh-inspired organisations to discuss demographic change, youth drug abuse, ‘Panch Parivartan’ and India’s development model.
New Delhi, August 18, 2026 — The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will hold its three-day Akhil Bharatiya Samanvay Baithak from August 19 to 21 at Vignan Vihar, Gudilova, Hyderabad, bringing together key functionaries of 32 organisations inspired by the Sangh and working across different sectors of society. The meeting will discuss demographic changes, drug abuse among youth, social developments and the broader concept of development, besides reviewing initiatives undertaken by the participating organisations over the past year.
RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar said at a press briefing on Tuesday that “the Baithak is neither an executive meeting nor a decision-making forum. Its primary purpose is to provide a platform for participating organisations to share information about their activities, experiences, achievements, challenges and developments in different spheres of society.”
The organisations will also present details of special initiatives undertaken during the year and discuss their outcomes and impact on public life.
Discussions will focus on strengthening mutual coordination and exploring how the organisations can collectively take forward initiatives for the larger welfare of society.
National presidents, general secretaries and organising secretaries of Sangh-inspired organisations, including the BJP, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Vishva Hindu Parishad, Bharatiya Janata Party, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh and Rashtra Sevika Samiti, are expected to attend.
A total of 253 representatives from organisations across the country, including 49 women, are expected to participate. Including senior RSS functionaries, overall participation is expected to be around 327 representatives.
Demographic Change, Youth Drug Abuse on Agenda
The three-day meeting will deliberate on the prevailing situation in the country, social developments and several contemporary issues.
Demographic changes will be a key area of discussion, with participants examining concerns arising from such changes and possible measures to address them.
The growing problem of drug abuse among youth will also come up for discussion. The deliberations will cover its adverse impact, de-addiction measures and coordinated initiatives that participating organisations can undertake to create awareness among young people.
RSS Centenary and ‘Panch Parivartan’
“The Baithak will also hold special discussions on the Panch Parivartan initiatives emphasised during the RSS centenary year,” said Ambekar.
The five areas are Samajik Samrasta (social harmony), Kutumb Prabodhan (family enlightenment), environmental protection, awakening of Swa (selfhood) and civic duties.
According to the RSS, these themes have been taken up through various initiatives by swayamsevaks and workers of different organisations. With the centenary year nearing completion, the meeting will discuss how the initiatives can be expanded and what role different organisations can play.
RSS to Debate Its Concept of Development
Another major subject will be the question of what India’s model and concept of development should be.
The RSS said development should not be viewed merely in economic terms, arguing that it also encompasses social, cultural and environmental dimensions.
The discussions are expected to help participating organisations formulate plans and initiatives in their respective fields for the coming period.
The RSS also highlighted what it described as growing interest among young people during its centenary year.
According to figures shared at the briefing, 55,423 people registered through the ‘Join RSS’ online platform between January and July 2025, compared with 1,23,287 people who expressed interest in associating with the RSS during the corresponding period in 2026.
In July alone, registrations stood at 9,718 in 2025 compared with 24,086 in 2026.
The RSS said more than 65% of those expressing interest are below the age of 30, while nearly 85% are below the age of 40.
The organisation attributed the figures to growing interest in its social initiatives, particularly among younger people.
