Balu Forge Industries shares surged 11% on Friday, as microcaps rallied and the company confirmed Q1 FY27 results and an FCCB issue.
Mumbai, August 14, 2026 — Shares of Balu Forge Industries Ltd (BSE: 531112, NSE: BALUFORGE) jumped 11.19% in Friday’s trade, touching an intraday high of ₹506.50 before easing slightly to trade around ₹495.95 as of 12:46 pm, according to BSE data. The stock opened at ₹449.15, close to its previous close of ₹446.05, before extending gains through the session on a volume-weighted average price of ₹492.99. The company’s market capitalisation stood at ₹6,020.43 crore, with free-float market cap at ₹2,351.95 crore.
A broader microcap rally is the immediate trigger. Balu Forge’s move came as the Nifty Microcap 250 index touched a fresh 52-week high in Friday’s session, even as the benchmark Nifty 50 slipped. According to Business Standard, the index climbed for a third straight session, with Balu Forge Industries and Manorama Industries among the standout gainers, rallying alongside the broader index’s record run even as the wider market stayed subdued.
But company-specific triggers are also in play. Two days before the surge, Balu Forge’s board approved its Q1 FY27 results, reporting income of ₹304.6 crore, EBITDA of ₹84.8 crore and net profit of ₹66.1 crore, per data compiled by Screener. The same board meeting cleared a plan to raise up to USD 60 million via Foreign Currency Convertible Bonds (FCCBs) and lifted the company’s borrowing limit to ₹1,000 crore, with an Extraordinary General Meeting scheduled for September 4, 2026, to approve the fundraise. The company has also scheduled an investor and analyst meeting for August 20, 2026, under SEBI’s LODR disclosure norms.
The stock remains volatile and well off its highs. Even after today’s gain, Balu Forge is trading well below its 52-week high of ₹696, hit earlier in the year, and above its 52-week low of ₹341.35. The counter’s upper price band for the day was set at ₹535.25, with the stock trading within a 20% circuit band. Trading activity was moderate, with total traded quantity at 3.93 lakh shares and turnover of ₹19.37 crore, an EPS (TTM) of ₹13.11 on a standalone basis and ₹22.39 on a consolidated basis, and a standalone P/E of 37.83.
Balu Forge is a precision engineering company manufacturing forged and machined components for auto, defence, oil & gas, railways and marine sectors, and has previously seen sharp single-day moves tied to company-specific news — including a similar 11-12% jump in January 2026 after an Income Tax Department search at its offices concluded with no incriminating findings.
