Quick summary: Bajaj Electricals jumped ~9-10% Thursday (Aug 6), closing at ₹382.50 after touching an intraday high of ₹407.50 — its sharpest move since Feb 2021. The trigger was Q1 FY27 results: net profit surged to ₹48 crore (from ₹1 crore YoY) on flattish revenue, but EBITDA margin more than doubled to 7.02% from 3.1%, which is what really moved the stock.

Mumbai, August 7, 2026 — Shares of Bajaj Electricals surged as much as 9% in Thursday’s trade, marking the stock’s sharpest intraday move since February 2021, after the company reported a sharp turnaround in quarterly profit. According to Equitypandit, the stock hit an intraday high of ₹407.50 on Thursday, its sharpest jump since February 2021, following a strong quarterly profit turnaround. By close, the stock had settled at ₹382.50 on the NSE, up 9.88% for the day, per the same report.

The rally was driven by the company’s Q1 FY27 earnings, released Thursday, August 6, for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. Upstox reported that consolidated net profit registered a massive surge to ₹48 crore, compared to just ₹1 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year. Revenue growth, by contrast, was modest — Upstox noted revenue from operations rose 2.3% year-on-year to ₹1,089 crore, up from ₹1,065 crore in Q1 FY26.

Margin Expansion Was the Real Trigger

The forensic detail investors zeroed in on wasn’t the top line — it was profitability. Upstox reported that EBITDA grew to ₹77 crore from ₹33 crore in the same quarter a year earlier, with the EBITDA margin expanding to 7.02% from 3.1%. Equitypandit’s breakdown similarly flagged that the margin story mattered more than the modest 2.3% revenue growth, since profitability had more than doubled on a nearly flat sales base.

Separately, data from Screener showed the board also disclosed profit-before-tax of ₹66 crore for the quarter, alongside the earnings announcement made Thursday, August 6, 2026.

Segment-Wise Breakdown

Equitypandit’s report broke the turnaround down by division:

– Consumer Products — the company’s largest revenue driver —swung from a loss of ₹14 crore to a profit of ₹32 crore, with sales up 1.7%.

– Lighting Solutions — revenue grew 4.4% to ₹269 crore, though profit dipped slightly to ₹18 crore from ₹27 crore a year earlier.

Other Board Decisions Announced Alongside Results

The results were bundled with other corporate actions. The board approved Krishnan Sundaram’s appointment as Chief Growth and New Business Officer, effective August 11, and cleared a proposal to expand the employee stock option pool, subject to shareholder approval. The company also disclosed cash and surplus investments of ₹884 crore at quarter-end. The results were announced on the same day as the company’s 87th Annual General Meeting, held via video conferencing.

What Management Said

Chairman Shekhar Bajaj framed the quarter as a disciplined performance amid a tough operating backdrop. In comments carried by Upstox, he said: “We are pleased to have started FY27 on an encouraging note. Despite a challenging operating environment marked by input cost inflation, uneven summer demand, and industry-wide price increases, our teams remained focused on execution, channel consolidation, and cost efficiencies.”
