Daily Star, a Dhaka-based daily, in a report said that a lawyer was killed during clashes between police and followers of Das in the Chattogram Court Building area yesterday. “The clashes left at least 10 people injured,” added the daily, saying that the supporters of the Hindu priest allegedly turned violent after he was denied the bail by the court.
Das has been slapped with sedition charges. The sedition case was filed by an activist of the Bangladesh National Party (BNP). Das is said to have given a call for a peaceful protest against the growing attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh.
