Varun Gandhi has been a subject of intense speculation in the political circles after the BJP denied him a renomination from the Pilibhit Lok Sabha seat. The BJP fielded Jitin Prasada from the Pilibhit Lok Sabha seat.

Varun Gandhi has been missing from the electioneering after he was denied the ticket by the BJP. He stopped becoming a rebel even while his aide had reportedly procured nomination papers from Pilibhit.
