New Delhi, September 5: Hombale Films, the makers of KGF and Salaar, released the trailer of their next movie ‘Kantara’.
The trailer of Kantara, starring actor Rishab Shetty, was released on Monday morning ahead of the film’s release in cinemas on September 30. Going by the visuals, the movie promises an intense and exciting drama set against the rural backdrop of sandalwood smuggling.
Kantara is directed by the lead Rishabh Shetty. Sapthamy Gowda the female lead gets to play a feisty character in the movie with a touch of romance with the male protagonist.
The film also stars Kishore, Pramod Shetty and Achyuth Kumar in the lead roles.
On the social media platforms, the fans are already demanding that the film be dubbed in the Tulu language. The film apparently has Tulu tribe as the backdrop to build a gripping tale of the sandalwood smuggling.
The film is coming close on the heels of the runaway success of Pushpa, which was also set in the same backdrop of sandalwood smuggling, while its dance steps became an instant international hit.
“Every clan has its own pride and legacy. Warning: Fury breaks out if invaded” is the tagline of the film Kanakara.
Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa had smashed the box office records with the racy action scenes and dance steps, with the character innovating ways to smuggle sandalwood with the police in hot pursuit.
The South Indian language films have a particular love with the sandalwood smuggling, which is now a folklore with Veerappan, who was shot dead in 2014, while he ran his rein for several decades in the dense forests.
