Greater Noida becomes 1st ISO certified Commissionerate in Uttar Pradesh

New Delhi, August 12: Police Commissioner Office in Sector 8 and Surajpur, established in 2020, have been awarded ISO 9001:2015 certification. The certification was granted for provision of excellent police services to the public, timely problem resolution, and efficient administration.

Royal Impact Certification Limited, the ISO certifying firm, assessed the Commissionerate’s various services and deemed them world-class, said the Uttar Pradesh CM Office in a media statement.

“The ISO certificate was awarded based on the infrastructure, quality management, and the effective implementation of police charter under the leadership of Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh,” added the CMO in the statement.

“The Gautam Buddha Nagar Commissionerate, established in 2020, has been awarded the ISO 9001:2015 certification for delivering exceptional police services in line with international standards, implementing an efficient problem-resolution system, and maintaining excellent administrative management,” said the UP CMO.

This recognition was based on the Commissionerate’s adherence to various standards, including infrastructure, quality management, and the effective implementation of the police charter, said the UP CMO.

It also stated that the Gautam Buddha Nagar Commissionerate developed an action plan to enhance the quality and timeliness of police services and public complaint resolution at the administrative level. “The successful implementation of this plan formed the foundation for obtaining ISO certification. As part of this initiative, a special campaign was launched to standardize operations at the Commissionerate Headquarters in Surajpur and the Sector-108 office,” added the CMO in the statement.

The process included the creation and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all branches, aligned with global standards, said the CMO. It added: “This effort encompassed aspects such as an effective police administrative system and the prompt and fair delivery of justice to both women and common citizens.”

As part of the certification process, the Royal Impact Certification Firm, conducted audit of various branches within the Gautam Buddha Nagar Commissionerate’s Surajpur headquarters and Sector 108 office. The audit covered a range of units, including IGRS, Dial-112, the complaint cell, legal cell, monitoring cell, DCRB, crime branch, passport cell, as well as compliance with various charters, women’s safety, etc.

“Following the audit, which assessed infrastructure, quality management, system effectiveness, and office processes, the Gautam Buddha Nagar Commissionerate was awarded ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certification on August 9. The certification recognized that all procedures and protocols were aligned with international standards,” added the CMO in the statement.

It also said that the “Mission Certificate specifically notes that the Gautam Buddha Nagar Commissionerate excels in delivering police services, resolving problems, managing administrative functions, and adhering to citizen and police charters in accordance with global standards”.
