US Congressional Report Links Covid19 to ‘Likely Wuhan Lab Link’

By Raisina Correspondent

New Delhi, December 3: The US President-elect Donald Trump now faces demand to hold China accountable for Covid-19 outbreak. A Congressional report after two years of probe said that the Coronavirus “was likely leaked from Wuhan Lab accident”.

The House committee released 500+ page report on the Covid-19 pandemic. Key findings are “Covid-19 likely originated from a lab-related incident in Wuhan, linked to gain-of-function research funded with U.S. taxpayer dollars; and over $200 billion in relief funds lost to fraud, with criminals exploiting weak oversight.”

The House committee in its report slammed “prolonged lockdowns and arbitrary mandates”. It stated the measures taken by the administration “caused severe harm — economic devastation, mental health crises, and historic learning loss — while lacking robust scientific support.”

“The incoming Trump administration must now take the necessary steps to hold China accountable for the Covid-19 pandemic,” said former WHO member Jamie Metzi in a post on X. He said that “America’s Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act can be amended with the Republican-led Congress”.

He said that the bill be brought before the Congress on Day One after the unveiling of the Trump presidency.

Metzi also claimed that the “US House select committee in its report has determined that Covid-19 most likely leaked from a Wuhan lab. It can’t 100% confirm this assessment because China’s government has engaged in a five-year systematic cover up by destroying samples, hiding records, imprisoning journalists, gagging scientists, and blocking any meaningful international investigation.”

“As in a mafia trial where the witnesses keep disappearing, China’s malfeasance can only be construed as an acknowledgement of guilt,” he added. The US House committee presented its findings in a 520-page report on Monday.

The report concluded that “previous reports indicating that the virus transferred from animals to humans have not been supported”. It asserted that the theory of “an animal-to-human transmission is now considered weak”.

Brad Wenstrup chaired the committee that probed the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak and its source. Leading virologists across the world have blamed China for letting the Corona virus escape Wuhan. The virus first spread to Italy and Europe and afterwards across the world.

The outbreak of the Corona virus was traced to Wuhan in in Hubei Province of China in December 2019. Assessments claim that seven million people lost their lives due to the pandemic.
