Noida, November 27, 2025 — Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday conducted a comprehensive on-ground inspection of the under-construction Noida International Airport in Jewar, reviewing terminal readiness, security arrangements, traffic management and preparations for the proposed inauguration.
Following the site visit, the Chief Minister chaired a high-level review meeting with senior officials from the Union Civil Aviation Ministry, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, Central Industrial Security Force, Airports Authority of India, Noida International Airport Limited, district administration, police and construction agencies.
During the review, officials informed the Chief Minister that the airport has not yet received its mandatory aerodrome licence and final security clearance. Expressing concern, Yogi Adityanath directed authorities to immediately complete all pending security standards in coordination with the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security and CISF.
“This is Uttar Pradesh’s most ambitious infrastructure project. Any pending security or operational work must be completed at the fastest pace and with the highest quality,” the Chief Minister said, stressing that there would be no compromise on safety.
The Chief Minister underlined that the Noida International Airport will emerge as a new global gateway for Uttar Pradesh and a magnet for international investment. He instructed all agencies to ensure strict adherence to timelines, seamless inter-departmental coordination and flawless execution ahead of the inauguration.
According to officials, the airport will begin operations with a single runway and an initial annual passenger handling capacity of around 12 million. On full completion, the airport will have five runways, spread across 11,750 acres, with the ability to handle up to 300 million passengers annually, placing it among the world’s largest airports.
Officials also presented a detailed PowerPoint briefing on the current construction status, upcoming milestones and preparations for the inauguration ceremony. The Chief Minister directed that all remaining formalities related to licensing, security deployment, and operational trials be completed on a priority basis to ensure a timely and safe launch of the airport.
