Yogi camps in Ayodhya to avenge Lok Sabha poll loss

Lucknow, September 19: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has pressed into action ‘Mission Milkipur’ to win crucial Assembly byelection. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had lost the Faizabad Lok Sabha seat.

The BJP had gained international headlines for losing from parliamentary constituency which includes the temple city of Ayodhya. Adityanath presided over strategy meeting in Ayodhya on Thursday to chalk out plan to win Milkipur Assembly bypoll.

“Adityanath held a strategic meeting with public representatives and party officials on Thursday, focusing on Mission Milkipur. He stressed on the mantra ‘win the booth, win the election’ during the strategy meeting,” said a BJP official.

The BJP had lost the Faizabad Lok Sabha seat to the Samajwadi Party. The SP MP, Avadhesh Prasad Pasi, has been the face of the Opposition victory in Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha elections.

Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, had also patted Pasi for his victory. Gandhi had taunted the BJP, saying that the people defeated Modi-led party even in Ayodhya.

The Chief Minister stressed on targeting every booth in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s poll strategy. “He directed officials to categorize booths into A, B, and C, with a clear goal to secure a decisive victory in A category booths, elevate B category booths to A status, and improve C category booths to B,” added the party functionary.

He asked the party workers to highlight the development schemes launched by both central and state governments in Ayodhya and Milkipur.

“He outlined a comprehensive strategy for the party’s organizational activities, including holding conferences for various sectors such as farmers, advocates, intellectuals, and traders. The CM directed party officials and representatives to hold all relevant meetings and conferences by September 30 so that responsibilities for the Milkipur by-election could be assigned,” added the BJP functionary.

Adityanath on Thursday held a public meeting in Ayodhya. He hit out at the Samajwadi Party and its leader Akhilesh Yadav. “Organized crime thrived under the SP rule in the past, with mafias controlling animals, forests, mining, and land,” claimed the UP chief minister.

The BJP had seen a major poll reversal in Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha elections. The SP had won 37 Lok Sabha seats to become the largest party in the state.

The byelections for 10 Assembly seats are crucial for Adityanath to cement his position in the state. In the aftermath of the Lok Sabha verdict, Adityanath had faced dissensions within the BJP ranks.

With focus on ‘Mission Milkipur’, Adityanath inaugurated and laid foundation for development projects worth ₹1,000 crore for Ayodhya.
