White House Officials Tell Media on Trump Order to Pause Ukraine Aid

Washington, March 3: U.S. President Donald Trump has paused military aides to Ukraine. The White House officials briefed media on Trump issuing order to pause the aid to Ukraine.

|The Trump admin is pausing military aid to Ukraine, posted Sara Cook on X. A CBS Journalist covering the White House, she said: “The President has been clear that he is focused on peace. We need our partners to be committed to that goal as well.” The pause came after the Oval Office spat.

She further quoted the WH official, saying that “We are pausing and reviewing our aid to ensure that it is contributing to a solution”. Multiple WH correspondents posted similar posts on X. They all stated that the Trump administration is pausing the military aid to Ukraine.

The development has come in the backdrop of Trump lambasting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for his social media post in which has said that an end to the Ukraine War is “far, far away”.

“This is the worst statement that could have been made by Zelenskyy, and America will not put up with it for much longer! It is what I was saying, this guy doesn’t want there to be Peace as long as he has America’s backing and, Europe, in the meeting they had with Zelenskyy, stated flatly that they cannot do the job without the U.S.,” said Trump in a post on Truth Social.

The White Office official told media that “we are pausing and reviewing our aid to ensure that it is contributing to a solution”. The decision to pause the military aide to Ukraine by the U.S. has come even while the European Union vowed to strengthen the defence of war-ravaged country.

The Oval Office spat between Trump and Zelenskyy shattered the U.S. and Ukraine relations. Zelenskyy countered claims of U.S. Vice President J D Vance while also arguing with Trump in a full media glare.

The U.S. military aide pause for Ukraine is coming after three years of the Russian invasion of the war-ravaged country. Reports stated that Russia currently controls 20 per cent of the Ukraine’s territory. Zelenskyy refused to agree for a ceasefire with Russia, citing previous violations of agreement by Moscow. Zelenskyy also insisted on security guarantees.
