AYODHYA, August 7, 2025 — The Uttar Pradesh government, under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is constructing a grand spiritual gateway named ‘Tilak Pravesh Dwar’ at a cost of ₹1.89 crore to enhance the religious and cultural appeal of Ayodhya.

Situated near the revered Hanuman Gufa on the Panchkosi Parikrama Marg, the gateway is nearly 60% complete and is set to become a signature landmark of the holy city.

“Being executed by the Ayodhya Development Authority, the ‘Tilak Pravesh Dwar’ will not only be a point of entry but also a symbol of Ayodhya’s spiritual legacy,” said the state government in a media statement.

Designed in classical temple style using modern techniques, the gateway will incorporate Ramayana-era motifs, intricate stone carvings, and sculpted pillars with thematic lighting and lush landscaping, offering a visually and spiritually uplifting experience to devotees.

“The Tilak Pravesh Dwar will significantly enhance Ayodhya’s spiritual stature and also be an architectural marvel. Every effort is being made to dedicate it to the public ahead of upcoming festivals,” said Ashwin Pandey, Vice President of the Ayodhya Development Authority.

The initiative is part of the Yogi government’s broader vision to transform Ayodhya into a global spiritual tourism hub. Alongside the redevelopment of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi, other ongoing projects include Aastha Path, Bhakti Path, digital signage systems, riverfront beautification, and temple connectivity enhancements.

Once completed, the Tilak Pravesh Dwar will welcome lakhs of pilgrims walking the Panchkosi Parikrama route with architectural splendor and religious symbolism, making it not just a passage, but a soul-stirring threshold into Ramnagari.

“Local residents have lauded the effort, calling it a proud reflection of Ayodhya’s cultural resurgence and a beacon for its heritage and identity,” added the state government.

The inauguration is expected in the coming months, in time for a surge in pilgrim footfall during key religious festivals.
