Parliament Winter Session: George Soros Snuffs out Lok Sabha Low Flame

New Delhi, December 11: Parliament gridlock persisted on Wednesday even while there were attempts to resume normal businesses in the Lok Sabha. The treasury and the Opposition sparred in the Rajya Sabha over the impeachment motion against the House Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar.

The Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day amid ruckus. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) continues to attack the Congress over the alleged links of the party leaders with George Soros. The BJP chief Jagat Prakash Nadda accused the Congress of attempting destabilize the country at the behest of Soros.

Earlier, the Lok Sabha witnessed a semblance of normalcy returning to the House. The Congress sought to dub the ruling BJP as the disrupter of parliament. Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi led the party leaders in handing over flowers and national flags to the BJP leaders.

Gandhi handed over the national flat to deputy leader in the Lok Sabha and Union Minister for Defence Rajnath Singh. “We are imploring the BJP not to disrupt parliament, Jairam Ramesh, the chief of the communication department of the Congress, said in a post on X.

Earlier, the Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi wrote a letter to the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Gogoi urged upon Birla to order enquiry into the alleged defamatory allegations levelled by the BJP MP Nishikant Dubey against Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Gogoi demanded that the defamatory allegations be expunged from the records of the House.

During the Zero Hour, Gogoi raised the issue of the Manipur violence. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not found time to visit Manipur. Union Minister for Home Affairs Amit Shah also has not found time to apprise parliament about the Manipur situations,” alleged Gogoi.

The Congress leader’s claims on the Manipur issue angered the BJP MPs. They began protesting. Union Minister for Commerce Piyush Goyal led the BJP ruckus.

“When did a Congress prime minister even visit any of the Northeastern states,” asked Goyal. Hi ranted tirade against the Congress while plunging the House in a pandemonium. The Lok Sabha had to be adjourned till 2 PM.

The Union Minister accused the Congress of conniving with Soros to destabilizethe country. While Nadda levelled the Soros link allegations against the Congress in the Rajya Sabha, Goyal charged on the main Opposition party in the Lok Sabha.

Several of the Opposition MPs had submitted notices of breach of privileges against Dubey in the Lok Sabha. Birla informed the House that the Chair will examine the concerns raised by the members of the House.
