Organised by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, the conclave will bring together government, industry, and spiritual leaders to chart the future of spiritual tourism in India.
The event will be inaugurated by Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister of Tourism & Culture. Spiritual leader Gauranga Das Prabhu will deliver the keynote address.
A major highlight will be the release of the PHDCCI–KPMG Report on Spiritual Tourism, titled “Faith & Flow: Navigating Crowds in India’s Sacred Spaces”. “The conclave will also feature a Government–Industry Roundtable chaired by the Chief Minister to discuss strengthening infrastructure, responsible hospitality, and cultural promotion,’ said the Ministry of Culture in a media statement.

India’s Tourism Potential: India is among the world’s fastest-growing tourism markets, attracting over 17 million foreign visitors annually (pre-pandemic) and hundreds of millions of domestic travellers. With its diverse heritage, living spiritual traditions, wellness offerings, and cultural festivals, India has positioned itself as a global hub for spiritual and experiential tourism.
Destinations such as Varanasi, Bodh Gaya, Tirupati, Rishikesh, and Ujjain remain magnets for pilgrims and seekers alike, while the government’s focus on temple circuits, yoga, Ayurveda, wellness retreats, and digital innovations has further expanded India’s global tourism footprint.
The conclave in Ujjain comes at a time when India is actively promoting “Dekho Apna Desh” campaigns and developing new spiritual and heritage circuits to tap into the country’s $250 billion tourism economy potential.
