New Delhi, October 13: Electioneering in Colorado in the US, the former president, Donald Trump, vowed to hunt down every illegal migrant. Unveiling ‘Operation Aurora’, Trump spoke of handing over punishments such as death, 20-year and even 30-year jail terms, to the illegal immigrants.

“We are now known, all throughout the world, as Occupied America. But to everyone here in Colorado and all across our nation, I make you this vow: November 5th, 2024 will be Liberation Day in America,” said Trump.

Further expounding, the Republican presidential candidate said: “I will rescue Aurora and every town that has been invaded and conquered — and we will put these vicious and bloodthirsty criminals in jail or kick them the hell out of our country.”

Trump is an anti-immigrant hawk. His term in the office saw him approving construction of a wall alongside the border of the US with Mexico.

The Republican is stoking public opinions for the presidential election with his rhetoric against illegal immigrants, mainly from the South American nations.

Incumbent vice president and Democrat Kamala Harris has also visited the border areas with Mexico to signal that she too would be strict with the illegal immigrants.

Trump’s anti-immigrant rhetoric came in Colorado, which is known to be a bastion of Democrats. Trump is extensively campaigning in the Democrats’ strongholds.

Trump campaign managers believe that the public opinion is strongly building against armed gangs of Venezuelan identity. Videos of such armed gang members breaking into apartments are trending on the social media platforms.

The Guardian in a report said that the lead of Harris over Trump has come down to just two per cent. The UK-based daily reported on 10-day average of pollsters’ trackers. Harris had a lead of four per cent over Trump earlier.

Trump is sharpening his anti-immigrant stance also at a time when former US president Barack Obama has launched a personalized campaign against the Republican candidate. Obama is touring states to back Harris in the poll.

“To expedite removals of this savage gang, I will invoke the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to target and dismantle every migrant criminal network operating on American Soil. No person who has inflicted the violence and terror that Kamala Harris has inflicted on this community can ever be allowed to become President of the United States,” Trump asserted in his Colorado rally yesterday.

“These violent criminals should never be in our country. It’s time for the rapists and murderers to be removed,” added Trump.

“I’m hereby calling for the death penalty for any migrant that kills an American citizen or a law enforcement officer. I am going to give 20-year and if that is less, then 30-year jail term for illegal immigrants,” added Trump.
