Speculation swirls over tensions between Bondi and Kash Patel-led team on Epstein file probes

By TRH Global Affairs Desk

NEW DELHI, July 13, 2025 — US President Donald Trump has come out strongly in defence of Attorney General Pam Bondi amid mounting scrutiny over her handling of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. In an endorsement, Trump described her “fantastic”, urging allies to stop undermining her work.

In a post on his social media platform, Trump slammed what he described as “Radical Left lunatics” and “so-called friends” who are targeting Bondi, warning that the internal backbiting was playing into the hands of political enemies.

“We’re on one Team, MAGA,” Trump declared, adding that Bondi “is doing a FANTASTIC JOB” and must be allowed to continue her investigation into election integrity and alleged corruption without interference. He linked the latest controversy over Epstein files to a larger pattern of Democratic sabotage, referencing former Presidents Obama and Clinton, intelligence agencies, and media-backed narratives like the Steele dossier and the “Russia hoax.”

Trump’s post appears to be a direct response to reports suggesting growing friction between Bondi’s office and a faction led by Trump loyalist and FBI Director Kash Patel, who has been tasked with “deep state” accountability investigations. While Patel has built his mandate around exposing what he claims is a Democrat-aligned intelligence and media network that suppressed evidence of election fraud, insiders say he privately questioned Bondi’s slow pace and selective approach in handling the Epstein-related files.

Patel and his team reportedly raised concerns about Bondi’s reluctance to declassify or pursue certain high-profile names that appear in the Epstein documents, allegedly fearing political blowback or legal ambiguity. Bondi’s defenders argue that her methodical approach is designed to ensure legal robustness and avoid sensationalism.

In his post, Trump dismissed the renewed focus on Epstein as a distraction from what he considers the real priority: election integrity. He reiterated claims that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged and stolen”, asserting that Bondi’s investigations are uncovering critical details.

“The Left is imploding,” he wrote, before listing a series of grievances ranging from voter fraud to foreign policy and climate debates.

Trump also questioned why the Epstein Files haven’t already been used by his political adversaries if they contained anything truly damaging to the MAGA movement. “They haven’t even given up on the John F. Kennedy or Martin Luther King, Jr. Files,” he added, characterizing the obsession with Epstein as an “old, Radical Left inspired” distraction.

The tension has reportedly escalated in recent weeks, with some MAGA-aligned media figures openly questioning whether Bondi is withholding key information. Patel has made veiled remarks about “internal delays and misplaced priorities” in recent podcast appearances, though he has avoided naming Bondi directly.

Still, Trump’s unequivocal endorsement of Bondi is seen as an attempt to silence growing murmurs within his base. “Let Pam Bondi do her job—she’s GREAT!” he declared emphatically.

Bondi has so far declined public comment on the alleged tensions, but a spokesperson for her office issued a brief statement saying, “Attorney General Bondi remains fully committed to the pursuit of truth and accountability under the law, not politics.”
