New Delhi, March 20: China’s President Xi Jinping in a potshot at the US and its western allies has said that “to run the world’s affairs well, one must first and foremost run its own affairs well. Xi is arriving in Moscow on a three days long state visit to Russia to step up his bid to raise stake as a global peacemaker.

Xi will be in Moscow at a time when the western world has shut down diplomatic options to the Ukraine War. Also, China is now facing the heat of the western world as the AUKUS announcement to equip Australia with nuclear submarines bared the future prospects of the Indo Pacific turning into hot strategic zones.

“To run the world’s affairs well, one must first and foremost run its own affairs well. The Chinese people, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, are striving in unity to advance the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through the Chinese path to modernization,” Xi wrote in an article ahead of his Russia visit.

Xi is clearly seen aiming at the imploding financial architecture of the US and Europe as their leading banking institutions collapse in the aftermath of the runaway inflation, which had been fueled by such economies printing currencies to escape the fury of the Covid-19 pandemic. The dictatorial regime of China had shut down the large country for about two years, with stringent restrictions, driving the people even to the state of starvation in the bod of the Xi regime to insulate the Communist country from the pitfalls of an open economy.

“Chinese modernization is characterized by modernization of a huge population, common prosperity for all, the modernization of material and cultural-ethical advancement, the modernization of harmony between humanity and nature, and the modernization of peaceful development,” write Xi, making distinction between China and the western world.

Xi vowed that “going forward, we will steadfastly advance the cause of Chinese modernization, strive to realize high-quality development, and expand high-standard opening up”. After assuming an unprecedented third term as the general secretary of the Chinese Communist Party and President of China after a few months of reopening of the Chinese economy, Xi is seeking a rest of the Chinese economy, as well as a rest of its relations with the global economy with a clear thrust to dispel the western move to decouple their economy from Beijing.
