Lucknow, October 18, 2025Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the Titanium and Super Alloy Materials Plant at BrahMos Aerospace, Sarojininagar, on Friday. They also visited PTC Industries, which has developed a state-of-the-art Strategic Material Technology Complex in Lucknow, reinforcing India’s ambition to become self-reliant in defence manufacturing.

Speaking on the occasion, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said the facility represents “a living example of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision on the soil of Uttar Pradesh.” He noted that the plant will not only strengthen India’s technological capabilities but also create employment opportunities for thousands of youth.

“This is not just a plant — it is India’s leap into the select league of nations capable of producing critical defence and aerospace materials,” Singh said. “From fighter jets to missiles and satellites, India will now manufacture key components domestically,” he added.

He emphasized that “technology is power, but material is real strength,” and highlighted India’s efforts to develop capabilities in rare earth materials, essential for defence, space, electronics, and medical applications. With cutting-edge facilities and indigenous innovation, Singh asserted that India is on track to emerge as a global hub for defence manufacturing.

The new Strategic Material Technology Complex, spread across 50 acres and built with an investment of ₹1,000 crore by PTC Industries and Aero Technology Limited, includes advanced facilities for precision machining and propulsion system integration. The Defence Minister commended the project’s sustainable design, balancing technology and nature.

Rajnath Singh lauded Uttar Pradesh’s rapid industrial progress, crediting Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, improved law and order, and investor-friendly policies for transforming the state into India’s “growth engine.”

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, addressing the gathering, called the event “a landmark moment in Uttar Pradesh’s industrial journey.” He said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, India is not only meeting its own defence needs but also supporting friendly nations.

“The establishment of this facility marks the realization of India’s long-standing dream — to design, develop, and deliver its own aero engines and advanced propulsion systems,” Yogi said.

He highlighted that PTC Industries’ investment has created local employment and strengthened the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor, which now operates six active nodes with full land banks and institutional support from IITs and AKTU for skilled manpower development.

Yogi added that India’s defence self-reliance journey, initiated 11 years ago, is now bearing fruit: “Earlier, India was dependent on imports for defence supplies. Today, we meet our own needs and support our allies. This private-sector participation, with full state support, will drive employment and strengthen national security.”
