New Delhi, January 3, 2026 — The mystery surrounding the Swiss bar fire continues to deepen, with investigators yet to confirm the exact cause as disturbing eyewitness videos circulate online.

Speaking to Al Arabiya English, correspondent Julia Hamilton said police have not officially identified what triggered the blaze, stressing that the investigation remains ongoing and that multiple causes are being examined.

However, emerging visual evidence has intensified scrutiny. According to Hamilton, several videos and photographs taken inside the venue show champagne bottles fitted with lit candle-style handles shortly before the fire erupted.

“Right now, we still don’t know the exact cause of the fire,” Hamilton reported. “The police haven’t mentioned the exact cause yet because the investigation is ongoing and they are considering several possibilities.”

One key witness, a 19-year-old French national, was reportedly inside the bar celebrating her birthday with six friends when the incident unfolded. Videos reviewed by reporters appear to show flames igniting near the ceiling, allegedly from the lit champagne bottle candles.

“You can even see some of the pictures where the ceiling catches fire from these candles,” Hamilton said, adding that some patrons initially continued filming as flames spread overhead.

Moments later, panic set in. Footage shows the room becoming engulfed in intense orange flames, forcing people to flee as the fire rapidly consumed the space.

Authorities have cautioned against drawing conclusions from social media footage alone and have urged patience until the forensic investigation is complete.

Until then, the Swiss bar fire remains under close watch, raising urgent questions about safety practices inside nightlife venues and the risks posed by open flames in enclosed spaces.
