Mumbai, October 28, 2025 — Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd. (Sona Comstar), a leading global mobility technology company, announced its financial results for the quarter and half-year ended September 30, 2025, reporting its highest-ever quarterly revenue, EBITDA, and net profit.
In Q2 FY26, the company posted a revenue of ₹1,144 crore, marking a 24% year-on-year (YoY) increase, while EBITDA rose 13% to ₹289 crore, representing a 25.3% margin. Net profit (PAT) stood at ₹173 crore, up 20% YoY, with a net margin of 14.9%.
“For the first half of FY26, revenue grew 10% YoY to ₹1,994 crore, with an EBITDA of ₹492 crore and a PAT of ₹297 crore, maintaining healthy margins,” the company said in an exchange filing. Notably, electric vehicle (EV) programs contribute 70% to the company’s robust order book of ₹23,600 crore.
Rare-Earth-Free Motor Innovation
“Sona Comstar has successfully developed, tested, and validated a rare-earth-free, ferrite-assisted synchronous reluctance motor for electric three-wheelers and light commercial vehicles,” added the company in its media statement. The company also manufactures lightweight rare-earth magnet motors for electric two-wheelers, addressing supply chain risks amid limited availability of heavy rare-earth materials.
Strategic Growth and Global Expansion
Commenting on the performance, Vivek Vikram Singh, MD & Group CEO, said: “We achieved our highest-ever quarterly results driven by the expansion of our EV traction motor and railway businesses in India. Our innovation in rare-earth-free motors demonstrates our commitment to sustainable technology leadership.”
Sona Comstar received its first order from its new driveline plant in Mexico to supply differential assemblies to a U.S.-based OEM, adding ₹2.6 billion to its order book. Production is expected to begin in Q2 FY28.
The company also secured two new programs from OEMs in Asia and Europe to supply integrated motor controller modules for active suspension systems, worth ₹8.2 billion, with production slated for Q2 FY27.
In a key strategic move, Sona Comstar signed an MoU with Germany’s Neura Robotics to jointly develop advanced robotic components and technologies, aiming to industrialize robots and humanoids in India and other markets.
While the proposed joint venture with JNT in China has been mutually put on hold, both parties remain open to future collaborations. “With its record performance, innovative breakthroughs, and new global partnerships, Sona Comstar continues to cement its leadership in the EV and mobility technology ecosystem—driving India’s transition toward sustainable and intelligent mobility,” added the statement of the company.
