New Delhi, December 22: Shah Rukh Khan’s latest film ‘Dunki’ is set for release in Egypt next week. Shah Rukh Khan is known to enjoy a massive popularity in the African nation. India and Egypt has close relations.

A large Indian diaspora also makes India and Egypt ties special. On the lines of Turket and the Middle East countries, Shah Rukh Khan is hugely popular in Egypt. It may be recalled that hundreds of India business houses are operating from Egypt.

Egypt is also widely featured in the film shooting of Indian films. Egypt Independent in a report said: “Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan‘s latest film “Dunki” (The Illegal Immigrant) is scheduled to be released in Egypt next Wednesday. The plot revolves around “donkey flights” which facilitate illegal immigration into countries such as Canada, the US and UK. The comedy-drama film represents Shah Rukh Khan’s first collaboration with director Rajkumar Hirani, the director of “Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.” (2003) “3 Idiots” (2009), “PK” (2014), and “Sanju” (2018). Besides Shah Rukh Khan, the film stars Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, and Vicky Kaushal. The script and dialogue were co-written by Abhijat Josehi and Kanika Dehlon.”

The Egyptian daily also said that “Dunki marks Shah Rukh Khan’s third film this year following the box office smash hits of “Pathaan” and “Jawan”, which both grossed over $135 million globally.”

Film critics caim that the Shah Rukh Khan starrer film is comic take on the issue of illegal trafficking for which people end up spending evenm Rs one crore.

Illegal migrants trafficking also has become a big issue in Europe with Prime Minister of Italu Georgia Meloni expressing concerns that the identity of several European nations may be in danger. In the wake of Syria and other strife in 2015, a record number of migrants had come to Europe to take shelter.

But Shah Rukh Khan starrer film has the backdrop of the people seeking greener pastures in the US and Canada. Several accounts show that the traffickers resort to dangerous routes to traffic people to the European countries as well as the US and Canada.
