New Delhi, January 4, 2026 — In centenary year, the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) has resolved to take on the rising campaign of “Meem-Bhim.” The saffron mothership is set to launch a month-long outreach in Dalit habitations.
Sewa Bharti, an RSS affiliate, will kick-off a month-long outreach in Dalit habitations. Medical camps will be held across the country.
“The month-long outreach to bring health camps to the doorsteps of the weaker sections of the society will begin on January 6. This is an outreach of Sewa Bharti. But the full might of the RSS will be deployed,” said a senior RSS functionary.
The RSS leaders further explained that the organisation is seeking visible presence in habitations of weaker sections of the society. “You may say that the RSS is taking up the challenge to counter the ‘Meem-Bhim’ bonding campaign,” said another RSS functionary. The ‘Meem-Bhim’ campaign is a political description for efforts to align Muslims and Dalits in elections.
The RSS leaders also stated that the organisation is pushing affiliates for regular and intensive outreaches in such habitations. “Lately, the RSS has taken a grim view of attempts for conversions among the weaker sections, particularly Dalits. The RSS affiliates will take up programmes to counter ways which are employed by evangelists for conversions,” added the RSS functionary.
The RSS is currently in the midst of centenary celebrations. The organisation has set a target of reaching out to every home in the country.
“Directions have been given for greater mandal level activities. The clear approach is to widen programmes with key objectives. This also aligns with the ‘Panch Prana’ as explained by sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat on several occasions,” added the RSS functionary.
‘Samajik samrasta (social harmony)’ is part of the ‘Panch Prana (five resolutions)’ of the RSS. This predates almost a decade. The RSS had identified five key objectives for the organisation around which programmes are designed by the affiliates.
The RSS has 37 affiliates, including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). “The RSS affiliates will design outreach programmes in ways that we will have visible presence in Dalit habitations all through the year,” said the RSS functionary.
The ‘Meem-Bhim’ slogan has been deployed in the western Uttar Pradesh in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Chandrasekhar Azad ‘Ravan’ is credited for giving the political potency to the Dalit-Muslim bonding slogan. The slogan reached Bihar’s Seemanchal region in the 2025 Assembly elections in the state.
