New Delhi, March 13: The top functionaries of the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) will get into a huddle for three days. This meeting of the annual Akhil Bhartiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) is returning to Nagpur after a gap of six years. Also, the RSS has said that the official agenda for the meeting is the planning for the centenary celebrations of the foundation of the organization.
The meeting during three days through March 15-17 will be attended by top functionaries of the affiliate wings of the RSS. At the same time, the crucial meeting is taking place at a time when the Election Commission is all set to announce dates for the Lok Sabha elections.
The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is also likely to unveil its vision document in due course which could be a subject matter of discussion during the meeting of the RSS which will see attendance by regional heads of the outfit. This meeting is also likely to take stock of the poll preparations of the BJP as Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeks a third straight mandate to run the government at the Centre.
“The RSS will complete 100 years of existence. In this context, the annual ABPS this year will discuss the work plans for the centenary year,” said the RSS in a media statement. It added that the ABPS will review the work, especially related to the shakhas. The RSS aims to take the number of shakhas to one lakh in the centenary year, added the media statement.
It further mentioned that “a total 1529 Pratinidhi from across the nation are expected to attend along with the participation of the 32 Sangh inspired organisations and some groups”.
Sunil Ambekar, one of the top RSS functionaries said: “During the Pratinidhi Sabha, all organisations report and discuss about their works, the issues before them and the efforts towards the possible solutions during the ABPS. The Pran Pratishtha of Shri Ram Lalla on 22nd January this year has ushered in an environment of excitement and joy. This historic event is very important in the Bharatiya perspective. The Pratinidhi Sabha will pass a resolution in this regard. This Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha will witness the election process for the post of Mananiya Sarakaryawah.”
