New Delhi, December 3: The scientists of the Indian Space and Research Organization (ISRO) will be in a special spotlight during the Republic Day celebrations. The Narendra Modi-led government is bracing up shower affections on the ISRO scientists during the Republic Day celebrations on January 26.

Sources have confirmed that a large number of ISRO scientists have been invited to witness the Republic Day celebrations. It has also been confirmed that one of the most premium private hotel in the national capital has been booked for the ISRO scientists.

A top ranking government official said that the “ISRO scientists in a large number have been invited to witness the Republic Day celebrations. Several of the women scientists of the ISRO who had been part of the recent missions of the ISRO will witness the Republic Day celebrations from a coveted block in the gallery for the visitors”.

The ISRO had gained international accolades after the successful Chandrayaan-3 mission. The ISRO was able to land the mission in the South Pole of Moon. This was a feat achieved only by Russia, the US, and China before India made the successful mission to the satellite of the Earth. Afterwards, the ISRO also launched the Sun mission while also being on course to launch the Gaganyan Mission which will be India’s first manned space mission.

The official said that the “government is keen to give due recognition to the ISRO scientists for their pioneering achievements in the space sciences. They will be accorded the best of the hospitality and a message will be sent out to the country that India gives immense respect to the scientific community”.

On the first day of 2024, the ISRO once more demonstrated its space technology by successfully launching the XPoSat Satellite with flawless precision. This satellite is meant for the observation of the Earth and will remain in operation for the next five years.

The Aditya L-1 Mission of the ISRO has also been hugely successful. Sharing the images captured by the Mission, the ISRO said: “The SUIT payload captures full-disk images of the Sun in near ultraviolet wavelengths. The images include the first-ever full-disk representations of the Sun in wavelengths ranging from 200 to 400 nm. They provide pioneering insights into the intricate details of the Sun’s photosphere and chromosphere.”

The ISRO also showed technological prowess by maneuvering the transition of the Chandrayaan-3 from the Lunar to the Earth Orbit last month. The ISRO said on the occasions: “Ch-3’s Propulsion Module (PM) takes a successful detour. In another unique experiment, the Propulsion Module is brought from Lunar orbit to Earth’s orbit. An orbit-raising maneuver and a Trans-Earth injection maneuver placed Propulsion Module in an Earth-bound orbit.”

It may be noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was congratulated by the leaders of the BRICS when the Chandraan-3 mission had successfully landed on the Moon. India has offered the developing nations the expertise in the space sciences. Also, India by opening up the space sector for the private participation has seen a healthy rise of the startups in the space sector who are collaborating with the ISRO.
