The probe into the Red Fort blast has revealed a complex chain of transactions and accomplices, connecting the car’s transfer to a larger JeM-linked terror network.

New Delhi, November 11, 2025 —In a major development in the Red Fort blast probe, NDTV has revealed chilling details about the trail of the i-20 car that investigators believe was used as the “murder weapon” in the attack. The car, which exploded near the Red Fort earlier this week, changed hands multiple times in what police describe as a deliberate effort to obscure its ownership and mislead investigators.

According to NDTV’s report, the i-20 was originally owned by Salman, a resident of Gurugram in the National Capital Region. Despite the vehicle’s registration certificate still bearing his name, Salman told police he had already sold the car. His statement led investigators to Amir, who reportedly bought the car from Salman and was photographed holding its keys with the vehicle in the background.

Amir then sold the car to Ahmed, who in turn passed it to Tariq. Tariq, who was detained in Kashmir on Monday night, was subjected to sustained interrogation. “It was during questioning, officials say, that Tariq disclosed he had handed over the car to Dr. Omar Mohammad,” said NDTV in a report, quoting sources in probe agencies.

Dr. Omar Mohammad has now emerged as the key suspect and probable suicide bomber in the Red Fort attack. “He is believed to have been driving the I-20, which was last spotted in a parking area close to the historic monument before the blast,” added the broadcaster.

Police sources told NDTV that Omar Mohammad is a close associate of Adil and Muzammil, two doctors—one from Anantnag and the other from Haryana—who were arrested earlier in connection with the Faridabad module of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM). Investigators believe this module coordinated the Red Fort attack and is part of a wider terror network operating across Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, and Delhi.

The probe into the Red Fort blast has revealed a complex chain of transactions and accomplices, connecting the car’s transfer to a larger JeM-linked terror network.

The slow-moving car after parked for three hours had moved out of the parking lot on Monday evening before the blast. Reports said that as many as 11 people lost their lives while 24 were injured.
