Investigators trace suspects’ travel to Turkey; doctors among accused allegedly joined encrypted Telegram groups used for radicalisation and planning.

New Delhi, November 12, 2025 — The probe into the Red Fort blast has widened with investigation agencies now examining a suspected Turkey link, after evidence suggested that several of the accused had travelled to the country prior to the attack.

According to a TV18 report, investigators believe that Turkey may have served as the meeting point where the conspiracy was hatched and coordination took place between handlers and operatives. “As far as this entire Red Fort blast is concerned, the investigation so far has revealed that these suspects travelled to Turkey—most of them have travelled to Turkey,” the report noted.

Sources told the channel that the accused were allegedly part of a ‘white-collar terror module’—a group composed of educated professionals including doctors—pointing to a more sophisticated and ideologically driven network. Among them, Dr. Umar Nabi and Dr. Muzammil are said to have travelled to Turkey shortly after joining encrypted Telegram groups that investigators claim were used for radicalisation and operational coordination.

Preliminary findings indicate that the two doctors may have met their handlers in Turkey, where they were “apprised of the larger plot,” suggesting that an international nexus may have played a role in the planning of the attack.

Officials are now exploring whether this global link extends beyond Turkey, with intelligence agencies examining cross-border communication trails and funding patterns. The emerging evidence, officials say, adds a complex international dimension to what was initially viewed as a domestic terror case.

The revelation of a possible foreign coordination hub has prompted heightened inter-agency cooperation, as India seeks to track the flow of funds, messages, and movement of suspects involved in the case.
