New Delhi, September 7: Union Minister for Defence Rajnath Singh had asked the military commanders for deeper analysis of regional conflicts on Thursday. His remarks have created ripples in Bangladesh.
The Daily Star quoted a BNP leader asking India to respect sovereignty and independence of Bangladesh. The BMP leader Rahul Kabir Rizvi was quoted by Dhaka-based daily, asking India to respect independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh.

The Ministry of Defence in a media statement released on Thursday quoted Singh making references to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Hamas conflicts and the current situation in Bangladesh.
A PIB media release said: “Referring to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine & Israel-Hamas conflicts and the current situation in Bangladesh, the Raksha Mantri exhorted the Commanders to analyse these episodes, predict the problems that the country may face in the future, and stay prepared to deal with the unexpected”.
The Daily Star quoted Rizvi telling reporters in Dhaka on Saturday that “what the Indian defence minister said after a meeting with military commanders was alarming”. “There are questions in the public’s mind about whether his comments are intended as provocation,” Rizvi was quoted by the Bangladesh daily telling reporters.

Singh had emphasised on the need of a broader & deeper analysis by the top military leadership in view of the situation along the Northern border and the happenings in neighbouring countries, which are posing a challenge to peace & stability in the region.
There are reports that Bangladesh Army is stepping up imports of ammunitions from Pakistan. The reports also said that the Pakistan Army is now exchanging notes with the Pakistani military.
The Chief Advisor of the Interim Government of Bangladesh, Muhammed Yunus, in an interview to PTI had hardened his stance on the stay of ousted prime minister, Sheikh Hasina. Yunus had asked India to ensure that Hasina stops making statements from the Indian soil.
Yunus is repeatedly stating that Hasina must return to Bangladesh to face trials. A number of cases have been lodged against Hasina for “murders”.
Yunus had also asked India to stop “border killings”. He alleged that the Bangladesh people were being killed at the border with India.
