New Delhi, November 20: In a first, IVF for childless couple has made entry in poll promises. The Congress has made the promise to include IVF for childless couple in the party manifesto for the Rajasthan Assembly election.

Congress president Mallikarjuna Kharge along with incumbent chief minister Ashok Gehlot released the election manifesto, named ‘Public Manifesto-2’. The manifesto has stated that there will be IVF national package for childless couples in the Chiranjeevi. The manifesto also promised to increased the coverage of the Chiranjeevi scheme from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 50 lakh.

Inclusion of the IVF for the childless couple comes amid rising trends of the opening of the IVF clinics even in tier 2 and tier 3 cities. Health professionals state that the lifestyle changes along with growing stress in the life of the people are reasons for the couple approaching IVF clinics for help.

The Gehlot-led Congress in Rajasthan appears to be banking on the Chiranjeevi scheme for the Assembly election. The Congress also promised creation of 10 lakh new jobs for the youth. The party also claimed that four lakh new government jobs has been created in the state.

The Congress has also promised to double the economy of Rajasthan in the next seven year. The BJP has been attacking the Gehlot government over the women safety issue. The Congress in its manifesto announced installing CCTV cameras in public places for the safety of women. Also, the Congress promised discount in travel fare as well as free monthly coupons for women.

The Congress also promised MSP law for farmers and interest-free loans up to Rs 2 lakh. The Congress also promised 150 days of MNREGA works for workers. The period of employment under Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme will be increased to 150, said the Congress.

Speaking to reporters, Kharge said that the Congress government would also pay special attention to the increase in the protein intake of children in Rajasthan. He attacked the BJP saying that malnutrition among children in Gujarat is high. He praised the Gehlot government for better performance of Rajasthan on improving nutrition of children.
