Railways Showcases Bullet Train Station at Sabarmati at IITF

New Delhi, November 15: Glimpses of Indian Railways in 2050 are being showcased at Indian International Trade Fair. The Railways through several models is showing shapes of the Rails to come in the next two decades in the country.

Ministry of Railways has aligned with the ‘Developed India by 2047’ vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Aspects of progressive Indian Railways are being shown to the visitors at the stalls of the Ministry of Railways at the Bharat Mandapam in the national capital.

Chairman & CEO, Railway Board, Satish Kumar on Friday inaugurated the Railways Pavilion at the Bharat Mandapam. The 43rd Indian International Trade Fair (IITF) 2024 is being held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from November 14 to 27, 2024. This year’s theme, ‘Developed India @2047’, encapsulates India’s vision of becoming a self-reliant, prosperous and leading nation by 2047.

“Railways have highlighted several aspects of their development journey in their pavilion. Their technological and infrastructural advancements have been showcased through models, photographs and trans-lights, etc,” said the Ministry of Railways on Friday.

The exterior of the Railway Pavilion depicts the proposed Sabarmati Station of the National High Speed ​​Rail Corridor. Popularly known as Bullet Train, the High Speed ​​Rail Corridor will link Ahmedabad to Mumbai. As a spinoff of the project funded by Japan, India’s only Railway University has been set up in Ahmedabad in Gujarat.

The varsity has the vision to groom the next generation of railway leaders in the country. Japan has assisted in the setting up of the varsity.

“Special attractions are the models of Anji Bridge and Pamban Bridge. Models of India’s first semi-high speed train, Vande Bharat Express, Amrut Bharat trains, electric locomotives are also on display,” added the Ministry of Railways.

People of all age groups are taking interest in the Railway Pavilion. “The model of Vande Bharat Sleeper is increasing the curiosity of the visitors. Augmented Reality videos are attracting teenagers,” said the Ministry o Railways.

Interactive screens, interactive quizzes to know more about Indian Railways and railway achievements aim to be educational, informative and fun to entertain children. “The Railway Pavilion at IITF 2024 will make the visitors aware of the new initiatives being taken on the progress of Indian Railways,” said the Ministry.

Cornerstone of the Rail vision is the redevelopment of stations as well as enhancing the speed of the trains while also safe journey for passengers. The Railways is also speeding up installation of Kawach, an anti-collision device, to enhance safety of trains.
