New Delhi, September 9: Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and the Congress leader, Rahul Gandhi, told the Indian diaspora that India is a multiplicity of ideas. Gandhi told diaspora in Dallas in the US that the “fear of the BJP has vanished”.
“The Lok Sabha verdict gave a big message. It was that the fear of the BJP has vanished. The fear of one person in the BJP vanished,” said Gandhi.
Gandhi was cheered by the diaspora loudly. “Within minutes of the verdict, we saw that no one was afraid of the prime minister of India. The fear of the BJP was gone,” added Gandhi.

Gandhi explained his Constitution pivot to the diaspora. Gandhi said: “The people understood that the attack on Constitution was an attack on the religious ideas also.” He claimed that “when they attacked Constitution, they also attacked the history of the states and the traditions of the people”
“The RSS (Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh) believes that India is one idea. We believe that India is a multiplicity of Indias,” argued Gandhi.
The Congress leader dwelt on the issue of women safety in a board canvas. He rued the “negative attitude of the Indian men towards women”.
“Not just labour participation; it starts with the negative attitude that many Indian men have towards women. I don’t mean every single Indian man, but a large number of Indian men have attitudes towards women that are just ridiculous,” added Gandhi.

It starts there, and it reflects a particular way of thinking about women. You see it in the political system, the business world, and everywhere else.
He hit out at the BJP and the RSS for their “orthodox views about the women”. “The BJP and the RSS believe women should be confined to traditional roles—staying at home, cooking, and speaking less. We believe women should be free to aspire to whatever they want to do,” added Gandhi.
The Congress leader earlier in the day held a townhall in Texas in the US. He would be visiting several other cities as a part of the diaspora outreach.

Gandhi’s diaspora outreach speech in Dallas was brief. He spoke barely for a few minutes. Gandhi also expounded on his role as the leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.
“To stop the dictatorial attitude of the government is just an element of my job as the leader of the Opposition. My job principally is to bring love and humility in a person at the forefront of the Indian politics,” added Gandhi.
