Youth in Haryana spends 7-hour on reels: Rahul Gandhi

By Our Special Correspondent

New Delhi, April 24: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said that “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has panicked”. Gandhi claimed that Modi is now scared.

“PM Modi is now panicking. He is scared. He is panicking because of the Congress manifesto. Indeed, the Congress manifesto is revolutionary,” said Gandhi.

Former Congress president was speaking at an event in the national capital. He said that it’s now a life mission for him to hold the caste census.

“We have found out that the Modi government gave out ₹16 lakh crore to 22 people in the country. We have decided that we will get a portion of that from such people and distribute among the 90 per cent population,” said Gandhi.

Former Congress president said that it’s now his life mission to hold “X-Ray in the country”. “No power can stop us from holding the caste census. We will also hold economic and institutional census. This will give us details of the participation of the 90 per cent of the population in areas of employment,” added Gandhi.

He also said that 16 companies benefited from the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna (PMFBY). “The management of such companies doesn’t have representation from the 90 per cent of the population consisting of the scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, other backward castes, and the minorities,” said Gandhi.

Modi in a rally had claimed that the Congress would hold survey in the country and distribute the ‘Mangalsutra of Hindu women among the Muslims”. The Congress has complained to the Election Commission, alleging that Modi indulged in hate speech during elections.

The Congress leader also accused the prime minister of distracting the people from the real issues. “We got a survey done in Haryana. We found out that the youth in Haryana are spending an average of seven hours on Instagram,” claimed Gandhi.

He argued that the youth are being kept busy in trivial matters through reels. Gandhi charged that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is “employing tricks to distract the attention of the youth from the real issues”.

Gandhi also asserted that India will discover the strength after an X-Ray is done. He uses the term X-Ray for caste census.

It may be noted that the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government had commissioned the Socio-Economic and Caste Census (SECC). However, the Manmohan Singh-led UPA government had decided to withhold the outcome of the census.
