The visit, from June 9 to 13, is part of India’s broader strategy to enhance bilateral and multilateral trade ties, promote investment opportunities, and foster resilient economic cooperation with innovation-driven economies in Europe.
In Switzerland, Minister Goyal will engage with global CEOs and senior industry leaders across critical sectors including pharmaceuticals, life sciences, precision engineering, machine tools, and high-tech manufacturing. He is also scheduled to hold a high-level meeting with Swiss Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin to discuss strategic trade and diplomatic relations.
The Minister’s engagements will include one-on-one meetings with top Swiss firms, participation in the Swissmem Industry Day, and a Business Round Table with the Swiss Mechanical and Electrical (MEM) Industry. These interactions will focus on advancing discussions around the India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA), which holds potential to significantly boost bilateral trade and investment flows.

In Sweden, Minister Goyal will co-chair the 21st Session of the Indo-Swedish Joint Commission for Economic, Industrial and Scientific Cooperation (JCEISC) alongside Benjamin Dousa, Sweden’s Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade. The Joint Commission will explore avenues for cooperation in advanced manufacturing, innovation, green technologies, and sustainable solutions.
