Abhishek Banerjee Urges Indian Diaspora in Japan to Expose Pakistan’s Role in Terrorism

By TRH News Desk

NEW DELHI, May 24, 2025 –Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee, speaking in Japan as part of an all-party Indian delegation against terrorism, made a passionate appeal to the Indian diaspora to become vocal ambassadors for India’s stance on terrorism and expose Pakistan’s complicity in terror activities.

Addressing a gathering of overseas Indians, Banerjee said, “You are the biggest evangelist and proponent of the country. Wherever you are staying, try to raise the issue of terrorism in your circles, with local influencers, public representatives, and through social media.”

The TMC MP also exhorted the Indian diaspora to “amplify the message of how India is taking the lead globally in the fight against terrorism.”

The TMC leader stressed the need to “expose the actual face of Pakistan,” pointing to terror attacks like the one in Baramulla’s Uri sector. He claimed that “TRF (The Resistance Front), a proxy of UN-designated terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba, openly claimed responsibility for the attack.”

Banerjee also stated that “high-ranking officials of the Pakistan Army were seen paying tribute to terrorists,” citing publicly available photos and videos as evidence.

“If terrorism is a rabid dog, then Pakistan is a wild handler,” Banerjee remarked sharply. “Unless we address the handler, more rabid dogs will be bred,” asserted the TMC MP.

Banerjee’s remarks drew a distinction between India’s response and Pakistan’s alleged actions, stating, “India’s responses have always been measured, precise, and non-escalatory. We don’t act out of provocation. We act with responsibility.”

He also emphasized the responsibility of the Indian diaspora in shaping the global narrative. “You may live outside India, but you breathe India. Whether it’s food, clothing, or music – India lives through you. The expectation from you is greater than ever before,” Banerjee said, encouraging the audience to use every platform available to promote India’s message.

Wrapping up his address, he reaffirmed India’s firm stance: “India refuses to bow down. We will not yield to fear. We will respond in the language terrorism understands – and ensure the world stands with us in this collective battle.”

Banerjee is part of an all-party delegation led by the JD (U) MP Sanjay K. Jha. The delegation has so far met the Indian diaspora, former Prime Minister, members of Japanese parliament, and also attended discussions at Raisina Tokyo Dialogue on Indo Pacific. Banerjee had replaced TMC MP and ex-cricketer Yusuf Pathan in the all-party delegation.
