NEW DELHI, July 29, 2025 — Union Minister for Home Affairs Amit Shah announced in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday that terrorists involved in the Pahalgam terror attack have been killed in Operation Mahadev. Shah stated that six scientists of forensic science laboratory confirmed that guns recovered from the killed terrorists were the same which were used in the Pahalgam terror attack.
“In Operation Mahadev, terrorists Suleman, Afghan, and Jibran, who were involved in carrying out the attack, have been killed,” Shah announced. He also told the Lok Sabha that evidences gathered from the killed terrorists confirmed that they were from Pakistan.
“Voter cards recovered from the terrorists confirm that they were from Pakistan. Chocolates recovered from the terrorists were made in Pakistan. Guns recovered from them were also from Pakistan,” Shah stated. The Minister stated that he had a video conference with six scientists of the FSL, Chandigarh. They confirmed that the killed terrorists were the same who carried out the Pahalgam terror attack.
Shah stated that multi-agency probe in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack tracked down the three Pakistani terrorists. “Signals developed by our agencies were used by officials who walked on feet in the hills to track down the terrorists,” said Shah.
The Minister also stated that National Investigative Agency (NIA) was tasked with the probe of the Pahalgam terror attack. “The NIA had apprehended persons who had given shelters and food to the terrorists. These persons identified the bodies of the killed terrorists,” added Shah.
Shah also stated that the cartridges recovered from the Pahalgam terror attack were matched from the cartridges of the guns recovered from the killed terrorists. Shah also slammed former Union Minister for Home Affairs and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram.
“Chidambaram questioned the Pakistan origin of terrorists. He should have sought proof from me. Why does he want to give a clean chit to Pakistan,” claimed Shah.
Shah was making an intervention during the debate on Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha. Earlier, Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Subrahmanyan Jaishankar spoke in the debate on Monday.
