Purnea, November 4, 2025 — AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi asked Muslims in Bihar’s Seemanchal to grab power in the state, telling supporters to stop supporting Tejashwi Yadav. In a sharp attack, Owaisi accused Yadav of “being unreliable and exploiting Muslim voters for political gain.”

Addressing a public meeting in Kasba, Owaisi said: “Tejashwi Yadav is not just immature by age but also unreliable (naa sirf umra mein kachcha hai, wo jubaan se bhi kachcha hai).” Owaisi urged upon the Muslim supporters to become king makers in the state politics by not supporting the mainstream political parties.

“Tejashwi Yadav will not give anything. By supporting him, Muslims here have been condemned to the fate of poverty, unemployment, floods, and women without medical care. The BJP and Nitish Kumar already want to make the country a Hindu Rashtra,” said Owaisi.

The AIMIM is contesting Bihar elections in an alliance with the political outfits of Chandrashekhar Azad Ravan and Swami Prasad Mourya. The third front floated by Owaisi is contesting a limited number of Assembly seats.

“After the Pahalgam terror attack, when it came to raise the voice of India, it was Owaisi who went to foreign nations to give a befitting reply to Pakistan. But they call us extremists,” said Owaisi. The AIMIM leader alleged that the BJP and the Rashtriya Janata Dal call “Muslims of Seemanchal extremists.”

The Owaisi factor in the Seemachal politics has gained significance after the 2020 state elections gave surprising results with the AIMIM making successful entry into Bihar’s political turf. But the winning AIMIM MLAs soon after the polls defected to the RJD.

The BJP and the JD (U) are hopeful that the vote split of the Muslim constituencies in Seemachal region may hurt the prospects of Mahagathbandhan. The BJP is also banking on polarisation to help the party candidates win elections.
