New Delhi, January 14: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar yesterday made a special mention of the fact that several youngsters from across the country got jobs of teachers in the state. He stressed that all are welcome to Bihar in a heavily politically loaded statement.
Taking part in the ceremony to distribute the appointment letters to the youngsters, the Bihar chief minister said: “Bihari jo dusre rajya me rahta hai uski bahali wahan nahi hogi…kitini khushi ki baat hai badi sankhya me dusre rajyon ke logon ko yahan sikashak ki naukariyan mili haen (Will the people of Bihar who stay in other states not get jobs there. It’s a matter of happiness that the people from others states in a large number have got teachers’ jobs in Bihar).” Kumar smilingly took the names of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Telangana, Chandigarh, and Rajasthan among the states from where the people got the teachers’ jobs in Bihar.
The Bihar-based political observers particularly turned spotlight on Kumar making mention of 2006 and his reference to the situations in the state before 2005 in the presence of deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav. The political observers also sought to read the lack of warmth between Yadav and Kumar on the stage. It may be recalled that Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) was in power in Bihar until Kumar struck alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to wrest power in Patna.
The Bihar chief minister has declined to become the convener of the Indian National Democratic and Inclusive Alliance (INDIA). In a political googly, the Bihar chief minister has proposed the RJD patriarch Lalu Prasad Yadav for the role of the convener. The political observers while underlining that predicting the next move of Kumar is most trickiest are stressing that the Bihar chief minister is sending out complex political messages.
Earlier, it was stated that Kumar was miffed at the Congress leaders for not making him the convener. But now he is turning down the offer. Incidentally, it’s being stated in a section of political observers in Bihar that Mallikarjuna Kharge becoming the chairperson of the Opposition alliance has made the position of the convener irrelevant. They argue that Kumar will not accept a rank subordinate to Kharge.
As the chairperson of the Opposition alliance, Kharge will be the natural claimant of the post of the prime minister in the event the BJP fails to get the majority in the Lok Sabha. Also, a number of political observers have argued that it will be next to impossible to oppose Kharge as he is a Dalit. Also, the Congress is seen by other Opposition parties to have taken the lead role in the INDIA bloc.
