Rajnath Singh Briefs All-Party Meeting on Operation Sindoor: ‘100 Terrorists Killed, Operation Ongoing’

By TRH News Desk

NEW DELHI, May 8, 2025 – Operation Sindoor is ongoing while over 100 Pakistan-based terrorists have been neutralized, announced Union Minister for Defence Minister Rajnath Singh while briefing an all-party meeting at the Parliament Complex today.

Singh briefed political leaders on Operation Sindoor, India’s precision missile strikes targeting nine terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The operation, launched on May 7 in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians, has drawn unified support from across party lines. Opposition leaders, including Mallikarjuna Kharge, president of the Congress, strongly supported the action of the government.

Singh told the gathering that “Operation Sindoor is still ongoing, with around 100 terrorists eliminated in strikes on terror infrastructure, including Jaish-e-Mohammed’s headquarters in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s base in Muridke”.

“In Operation Sindoor, precise strikes were carried out on nine terrorist hideouts. Around 100 terrorists were killed. The final count is still underway,” Singh is learnt to have told the meeting of all-parties.

Footages aired by Pakistani television channels of mourning at coffins of killed terrorists confirm claims of Singh made at the parliament office. Singh asserted that “Operation Sindoor was executed with precision, alertness, and humanity to avoid civilian casualties”. “India’s actions were focused, measured, and non-escalatory,” added Singh at the meeting per sources.

The Minister told the political leaders that only “only terrorist camps were targeted in the Operation Sindoor”. “We do not wish to escalate the situation. If Pakistan acts, we will not back down,” Singh warned, signaling India’s readiness to respond to any retaliation.

Singh’s statement was also reiterated by Union Minister for External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, who released a brief video clip on X in which he said that “India’s actions were non-escalatory”. Singh described the operation as a continuation of India’s right to respond to cross-border terrorism.

Singh is learnt to have not shared any operational details of India’s strikes at nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (Pok). While Singh was making his remarks to the all-party meeting, absolute chaos gripped parts of Pakistani cities as drone hit several targets.

Afterwards, the government in a statement said that Pakistan overnight launched attacks at various targets across at least 15 Indian cities which were all neutralized in the air.

Kharge in a video message, however, lamented that Prime Minister Narendra Modi skipped the all-party meeting. “PM should have briefed the all-party meeting,” said Kharge.
