Noida International Airport closes on commencing flight operations

New Delhi, October 20: India’s largest greenfield airport, the Noida International Airport has unveiled its IATA (International Air Transport Association) airport code, also known as an IATA location identifier.
The code for the airport will be DXN. An IATA airport code, also known as an IATA location identifier, IATA station code, or simply a location identifier, is a three-letter geocode designating many airports and metropolitan areas around the world, defined by the IATA.
According to Kiran Jain, Chief Operating Officer, Noida International Airport, it will have 28 aircraft stands when starts operations in end of 2024.
Christoph Schnellmann, Chief Executive Officer, Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL) said the aim is to hand over Air Traffic Control Tower to the Airports Authority of India in the first few months of 2024 and test flights at the Noida International Airport will likely start in the first few months of 2024 and launching operations at Noida International Airport by the end of 2024.
The airport will cater to 12 million passengers by the end of its first phase and will be gradually expanded to Phase IV, in which it aims to widen the airport’s capacity to 70 million passenger per year.
The airport started the process of finding commercial partners for airport services including ATF supply, ground handling services, beverages, and lounges, for which tenders have been floated.
It has partnered with Smiths Detection for full body scanners and we will be ready for international operations from the first day of the launch. The Jewar Airport, is currently under construction and is set to become India’s largest airport, as well as one of the largest in Asia.
The airport with its inception dating back to 2001 when it was first proposed by the then Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Rajnath Singh. Located just 7 kilometers from Jewar, the Noida International Airport is poised to mark a significant milestone in India’s aviation landscape.
