PM Modi in Lok Sabha: Operation Sindoor Proved India Will Not Bow to Terror or Nuclear Threats

By TRH Political Desk

NEW DELHI, July 29, 2025 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking during the Lok Sabha debate on Operation Sindoor, delivered a combative and assertive speech, calling the military offensive a landmark moment in India’s counter-terror doctrine. The Prime Minister rejected claims of any nation mediating ceasefire with Pakistan.

“On May 9. US Vice President JD Vance tried to speak to me but I was bust with meetings. Later, I called back and was told that Pakistan would strike India. I told him that India would respond adequately,” said the Prime Minister.

He stated that the Indian armed forces caused major havoc by attacking several targets in Pakistan the next day. “No world leader asked India to not attack Pakistan,” added the Prime Minister.

He also stated that Pakistan tried to launch a strike on India with 1000 missiles and drones. “If they had hit any of the targets in India, there would have been devastations. But India destroyed them all in the sky,” added the Prime Minister.

He said the operation sent a strong message to enemies of the nation — both state and non-state actors — that India would not tolerate terrorism, and that threats, including nuclear blackmail, would not deter its response.

“Operation Sindoor has demonstrated that those orchestrating terror attacks on Indian soil will face decisive consequences. We will strike on our terms, with full force,” said the Prime Minister, as he outlined the military and geopolitical impact of the May 6–7 operation launched after the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22 that killed 26 civilians.

Without naming Pakistan directly at first, Modi said: “We conveyed to those sheltering terrorists that there will be no difference between those who pull the trigger and those who supply the gun. This is an era of technology-driven warfare, and our armed forces have mastered it — Operation Sindoor proved that.”

The Prime Minister also launched a sharp attack on the Congress party for allegedly undermining the morale of the armed forces and politicizing a national security crisis. “It is unfortunate that while the world supported India’s right to self-defence, my brave soldiers did not get the backing they deserved from the Congress party. Just days after the April 22 attack, they mocked, asking ‘Where is the 56-inch chest?’ Instead of mourning with the victims of Pahalgam, they played politics,” Modi said.

PM Modi emphasized that India acted within its rights, and global diplomacy played a key role in rallying support. “Not a single country opposed India’s action. Out of 193 nations, only three spoke in support of Pakistan. Be it BRICS or QUAD — India had global backing,” he said.

Referring to Pakistan’s nuclear posturing, Modi said: “They threatened us with nuclear weapons, but India didn’t flinch. We neutralized their key airbases and infrastructure. Some of their facilities are still non-operational. This was a clear signal that nuclear blackmail is no longer a viable tactic against India.”

The Prime Minister revealed that within minutes of the successful strikes, Indian forces informed the Pakistani military that their mission was complete. “We achieved 100% of our objectives. Had they used their heads, they wouldn’t have stood with terrorists. But they did, and paid the price,” he added.

The Prime Minister also stated that “I had made a commitment after the April 22 attack that not only terrorists, but their handlers would face consequences. We fulfilled that commitment within 22 minutes of launching our operation.”

PM Modi said that Operation Sindoor is a turning point that redefined India’s national security strategy and declared, “This is a New India — bold, strategic, and uncompromising in defence of its people,” he added.
