New Delhi, February 8: The U.S. Coast Guard confirmed that there are no survivors in the Alaska plane crash. Ten people are now confirmed dead after the wreckage of the plane was found.
The plane had gone missing with nine passengers. The wreckage was found about 20 miles from the Nome Airport in Alaska. The pilot is also among the deceased per reports.
The U.S. Coast Guard confirmed that three people were found dead in the wreckage. “Wreckage of missing Bering Air plane found 34 miles southeast of Nome, Alaska,” added the U.S. Coast Guard.
The Fox News in a report also quoted the U.S. Coast Guard, saying that they have located the debris field of the plane. The U.S. Coast Guard put out the photo of the debris of the plane.
“The US Coast Guard has located an aircraft matching the description of the missing plane approximately 34 miles southeast of Nome,” added Fox News.
Three individuals were found inside and reported to be deceased, said the American broadcaster.
Meanwhile, The Associated Press reported small commuter plane flying had gone missing over icy seas in western Alaska, South of the Arctic Circle.
The plane reportedly experienced a sudden loss in elevation and speed just before it went missing, Fox News said, while quoting authorities.
A Bering Air Cessna Caravan, a single engine turboprop, had gone missing. The plane was airborne from a small remote village to Nome, Alaska.
The U.S. Coast Guard said that there were nine passengers and a pilot on board when it disappeared Thursday afternoon over Alaska’s Norton Sound.
“We’re being told as well all 10 people on board the plane were adults and the flight was a regularly scheduled commuter trip,” said the American broadcaster, adding: “This was not a long flight by any means.”
“Now what is peculiar about this now that the Coast Guard is telling us that they have found the debris field of the flight in question, that three people were found deceased inside the wreckage. We were told, though, that the flight had ten people on board and one of those was the pilot,” added Fox News.
The plane crash in Alaska came within days of a military Black Hawk helicopter crashing into an American airline, which left 67 people dead, in the close vicinity of the Reagen National Airport in Washington D.C.
