NDA Adopts Resolution Lauding Armed Forces and PM Modi’s Leadership After Pahalgam Attack, Operation Sindoor

By TRH Political Desk

NEW DELHI, August 5, 2025 — In a strongly worded resolution, the NDA Parliamentary Party on Monday hailed the Indian armed forces for their “heroic valour” in Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev, launched in retaliation to the brutal Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 that claimed 26 lives.

The resolution, passed unanimously, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, calling it “visionary and resolute,” and asserted that India under his command has redefined its national security doctrine — from passivity to pre-emptive precision.

“India will identify, track, and punish every terrorist and their backers… Terrorism will not go unpunished,” Modi had declared in Madhubani just two days after the attack — a vow that the NDA said was delivered with “firmness and finality” through Operation Sindoor.

The Pahalgam attack, carried out by The Resistance Front (TRF) — a known proxy of Lashkar-e-Taiba — left the nation in shock after the group executed tourists based on religion, the NDA resolution noted.

On the night of May 6-7, India responded with precise strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, in an operation the NDA said was “non-escalatory, targeted, and deeply symbolic.” “Sindoor represents sanctity, sacrifice, and strength in our culture. The cowardly terrorists wiped it off our women’s foreheads — our armed forces restored it with pride,” the resolution stated.

The NDA outlined three core tenets that now define India’s counter-terrorism strategy: Swift, fitting response on India’s terms; No space for nuclear blackmail by hostile neighbours; and No distinction between terror masterminds and their state sponsors.

The resolution also credited 11 years of Modi-led defence reforms, indigenization, and drone warfare preparedness as pivotal in ensuring the success of the operation.

The resolution celebrated India’s global diplomatic campaign post-operation, in which 59 MPs from 32 countries presented India’s stand against terrorism. Opposition MPs also participated — an acknowledgment, the NDA said, of national unity in matters of security.

It highlighted recent international responses as validation of India’s position: The United States designating TRF as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) and Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT); and The BRICS joint statement condemning the Pahalgam killings and reaffirming “zero tolerance” on terror.

The NDA also drew contrast with the pre-2014 era, recalling frequent terror attacks in Indian cities — a pattern, it said, that has been decisively broken under Modi’s leadership. “India today is safer, stronger, and resolute,” the resolution read, promising continued efforts to build a ‘Viksit Bharat’ — a prosperous, secure, and developed India.
