Patna, November 11, 2025 — The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) appears set to form the next government in Bihar, with most exit polls predicting a comfortable majority for the BJP-led coalition in the 2025 Assembly elections.
According to an aggregate of nine exit polls, the NDA is projected to win around 147 seats, well above the halfway mark of 122 in the 243-member Assembly. The Mahagathbandhan (MGB) — comprising the RJD, Congress, and Left parties — is expected to secure around 90 seats, while the JSP (Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha and smaller parties) may win one seat, and Others around five.
The Matrize survey gives the NDA its highest projection with 147–167 seats, followed by Dainik Bhaskar (145–160) and TIF Research (145–163). The Mahagathbandhan, on the other hand, is shown trailing across all polls, ranging between 70 and 108 seats.
Notably, Chanakya Strategies places the NDA at 130–138 and MGB at 100–108, the closest contest among the nine surveys, though still favouring the ruling alliance. P-Marq, DV Research, and Peoples Pulse also show similar trends, each giving the NDA a decisive edge.
The exit poll trends indicate that the BJP-JD(U) alliance has managed to hold its ground despite anti-incumbency and localized discontent, while the RJD-led MGB has struggled to convert youth and rural support into a statewide surge.
If the results on counting day mirror these projections, the NDA will secure another term in Bihar, extending its grip over one of India’s most politically significant states.
