By Manish Anand

New Delhi, October 12: The Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak, Mohan Bhagwat, on Saturday signaled that all is now well in relations with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Bhagwat’s speech shunned veiled digs at the Central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Our nation is progressing. In all spheres such as technology and others, India is progressing,” said Bhagwat in his annual Vijayadashmi speech at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur.

Bhagwat spotlighted the successful conclusion of the Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. “The peaceful elections for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly affirm the progress made by the country,” added Bhagwat.

The RSS supremo particularly emphasized on the “rising stock of India on the world stage”. “The profile of India on the international stage is on the rise. We all can see the impact and acknowledgment of the rise of the Indian stature on the world stage,” added Bhagwat.

The RSS chief stressed that the “world has embraced Yoga”. “The world has not only accepted Yoga, but also the philosophy behind it,” added Bhagwat.

The annual speech of the RSS chief listed out social, environmental, and global challenges for humanity, as well as India. But Bhagwat did not repeat his concerns on Manipur that he had made after the verdict of the Lok Sabha elections.

At a convocation ceremony of the second-year cadets of the RSS, Bhagwat had rued the unabated ethnic violence in Manipur. Bhagwat had called upon the Centre to accord top priority to work for peace in Manipur.

The RSS chief also lauded India’s selfless humanitarian assistance to the world community. India after the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic as a part of ‘Vaccine Maitri’ had supplied vaccines to several countries.

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regularly counts Modi imprints in foreign policy in extending humanitarian assistance and also globalizing Yoga. The RSS chief accorded centre stage to the Modi achievements in his annual speech.

The speech of the RSS chief on Dussehra is widely awaited for clues on thoughts of the saffron umbrella organisation. By spotlighting the achievements of the BJP-led government at the Centre, Bhagwat appears to have signaled that the recent strain in ties with the political offshoot of the organisation has been ironed out.

The RSS-BJP chemistry was seen working on the ground in the just concluded Haryana Assembly elections. The BJP stunned the political pundits by winning a third mandate in a row in Haryana. The BJP won a simple majority in the Haryana Assembly on its own.
