Nagpur, October 2, 2025 — Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat today delivered his annual Vijayadashami address at the organisation’s headquarters in Nagpur, coinciding with the centenary of the Sangh’s founding.
Bhagwat’s wide-ranging speech marked the 100th year of the RSS and connected the occasion with the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Teg Bahadur, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. He hailed them as “exemplary icons of service, sacrifice, and integrity,” urging Indians to emulate their spirit.
Reviewing the past year, Bhagwat reflected on key national events, from the record-breaking Maha Kumbh gathering to the Pahalgam terror attack and India’s response, while warning of both hope and emerging challenges. He praised the government’s firmness, the armed forces’ valour, and society’s unity but cautioned that “vigilance and security preparedness remain vital.”
On the economic front, the RSS chief noted growing enthusiasm among youth and industry for India’s rise but warned against deepening inequality, environmental degradation, and consumerist excess. He reiterated the Sangh’s emphasis on Swadeshi and Aatmanirbharta (self-reliance) as pillars of sustainable growth.
Bhagwat also voiced concern over environmental disasters in the Himalayas and political instability in neighbouring countries, warning against violent upheavals and external interference. He urged Bharat to strengthen its democratic ethos while supporting regional stability.
Highlighting the Sangh’s centenary vision, Bhagwat said the RSS aims to expand its Vyakti Nirman (character-building) mission through its Panch Parivartan programme — focusing on social harmony, family values, environmental protection, selfhood and self-reliance, and civic responsibility.
He underscored that Hindu society’s unity and inclusiveness form the basis of national strength and that “Bharat’s Sanatan, spiritual, and holistic approach offers the world a model for true progress.” Bhagwat stressed that the RSS’s century-old mission remains to build a cohesive, self-reliant, and value-driven society capable of guiding global civilisation.
Concluding his speech, Bhagwat called upon citizens to “unite, walk together, and fulfil the duty entrusted to us by our ancestors” in order to re-establish Bharat’s identity as a global guide.
