New Delhi, September 9, 2025 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday reaffirmed Swadeshi and self-reliance as the foundation for achieving Viksit Bharat 2047, while closing a two-day Social Media Workshop organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the capital.

Timed to coincide with MPs’ presence in Delhi for the Vice-Presidential election, the workshop gathered all BJP Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members, aiming to sharpen their digital skills for direct communication with voters.

Led by nine prominent MPs including Tejasvi Surya, Sudhanshu Trivedi, and Bansuri Swaraj, the training emphasized social media as the party’s frontline tool—from amplifying government schemes to swiftly countering opposition barbs. The NaMo app was highlighted as a “digital charioteer” to drive engagement, particularly in boosting narratives around Nari Shakti.

Clear directives were issued: MPs must post 4–5 updates daily on X and Facebook, 2–3 on Instagram, and at least three shorts and one long video each week on YouTube, with 60% of all content in video format. The BJP urged parliamentarians to collaborate with influencers, simplify government schemes in explainer videos, and respond to opposition narratives in real time—a lesson underscored by the party’s slower reaction to Rahul Gandhi’s “Narender-Surrender” jibe in the past.

Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav steered discussions on upcoming outreach drives such as the Seva Pakhwada (Sept 17–Dec 25) and the Sansad Khel Mahotsav, positioning them as key opportunities for grassroots connection.

In his closing remarks, Modi linked the historic Swadeshi ethos with contemporary self-reliance, calling on MPs to translate this vision digitally for Viksit Bharat 2047. He urged them to project confidence in India’s developmental journey while ensuring communication is rooted in authenticity and clarity.

The workshop also showcased examples of MPs excelling in digital outreach—whether through influencer collaborations, behind-the-scenes content, or youth-centric storytelling—underscoring the BJP’s evolving strategy to bridge the gap between parliamentary politics and everyday citizens.

Ultimately, the exercise reflected a broader ambition: to ensure that by 2047, when India marks its centenary of independence, the idea of a “Developed Bharat” will be built not just through policies and programs, but also through a powerful, direct, and digitally savvy connect with the people.
