New Delhi, February 18: Union Minister for Home Affairs Amit Shah on Sunday claimed that the Lok Sabha election is between the Pandav and Kaurav. He said that the people have to choose between the front led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the other by seven dynastic parties.

Speaking at the national convention meeting of the BJP at the Bharat Mandapam, Shah said: “The people have to choose between the Pandav and the Kaurav. On one side is the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance front, and on the other side is the INDI (Indian National Development and Inclusive) Alliance. While PM Modi is taking India on the path of development, the constituents of the INDI Alliance want to protect their self-interests.”

Shah’s speech gave a broad overview of the poll narrative of the BJP for the Lok Sabha elections to be held in the next few weeks. Modi-led BJP will be seeking the third straight mandate. Modi has given the poll template for the BJP to win 370 Lok Sabha seats.

Shah said: “The INDI Alliance consists of the proponents of 2G, 3G, 4G, etc. They are not in reference to the scams. They stand for second generation, third generation, and the fourth generation. Same family continues to run their political parties. The constituents of the Opposition block are against democracy”.

Shah, who has also served as the BJP president, singled out the Congress for his sharp attacks. He accused the Congress of hurting the Hindu sentiments by not taking part in the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla at Ayodhya. Shah also accused the Congress of opposing the “efforts of the prime minister to make India a developed nation”.

The Constitution spells out that the country will be religion and faith neutral, said Shah, adding that the Congress in placed gave accordance to the minority communities as a part of the political agenda of the vote bank politics. Shah said: “The Congress practiced minority appeasement. The Congress government at the Centre in the past said that the minority community has the first right on the national resources. The Modi government in contrast said that the poor have the first right on the national resources.”

Shah also accused the Opposition of patronizing political violence. He claimed that hundreds of the BJP workers have been killed in Kerala. The two-day national convention of the BJP will conclude today with the address of Modi in the afternoon.
