New Delhi, June 8: The suspended CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur continues to trend on the social media platforms. After slapping film star turned politician Kangana Ranaut at the Chandigarh Airport, Kaur holds the centre stage as activists argue the merits of the case.
Film star Shabana Azami has condemned the incident. Azmi, who was a Rajya Sabha MP, in a post said that none would be safe if the security personnel began taking law in their hands.
Kaur is also getting a massive support of sympathy. A few of the lawyers have volunteered to defend her. Some have vowed to send her to the Lok Sabha to sit along with Ranaut.

The CISF has said that Kaur had given out the emotional outbursts. Husband of Kaur is also with the CISF, manning the dog’s unit.
“CISF official Kulwinder Kaur wasn’t supposed to be there – A detailed investigation needed how & why it happened to prove the motive besides possible lapses in the protocol,” said former diplomat Amar Jit Singh in a post on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter.
He stressed that the “availability of digital footprint of the incident may help to prove what actually happened”. “It matters little to say that it was an emotional outburst,” added the diplomat.

He noted that Kaur was apologetic. “She has asked her brother to refrain from giving any chance to farmers to take mileage out of the incident. This is a wise move but unlikely to deter those singing her paeans,” noted Singh.
The former diplomat asked, “How come the official was allowed to go public with outburst needs to be investigated”.
The CISF DIG Vinay Kajla has been quoted, saying, “It was an emotional outburst on her part. She is apologetic about the incident.” But the diplomat said that the claim of the emotional outburst may not hold during enquiry.
Some of the Punjab-based activists asserted on social media platforms that Kaur would be sent to the Lok Sabha to sit along with Ranaut. However, there is no vacancy in the Lok Sabha now.
Ranaut had posted a short video on her arrival to the national capital from Chandigarh. She had expressed concerns at the “rise in extremism and terrorism in Punjab”.
