Kharge Blasts BJP-RSS for Bihar Betrayal, Gandhi Conspiracy

By Amit Kumar

Buxar, April 20, 2025: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP-RSS combine, accusing them of spreading lies, betraying Bihar, and orchestrating a political conspiracy against the Gandhi family.

Addressing a large crowd at the ‘Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan’ public meeting in Buxar, Kharge slammed Modi for failing to deliver the much-publicized ₹1.25 lakh crore special package he had promised to Bihar during the 2015 election campaign. “Ten years have passed, where is that package?” Kharge questioned, even playing a video clip of Modi’s original commitment to underline the unfulfilled promise.

“Modi is the master of all liars,” Kharge declared, listing other “false promises” such as 2 crore jobs per year, ₹15 lakh in every citizen’s bank account, and doubling farmers’ income.

National Herald Case a Political Vendetta

Kharge also termed the National Herald case a “BJP-RSS conspiracy” designed to intimidate Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, whom he described as symbols of sacrifice and resilience.

He reminded the audience of the martyrdom of Indira and Rajiv Gandhi and highlighted how Jawaharlal Nehru had even donated his ancestral property to the Congress for public service.

“The BJP knows it cannot defeat the Gandhis politically, so it is resorting to slapping false cases,” he said, adding that “Congress leaders will never bow down to fear.”

Waqf Bill Meant to Divide, Not Reform

Taking aim at the recently passed Waqf Amendment Act, Kharge alleged it was crafted to polarize society and “create a wedge between Hindus and Muslims.” He said the legislation is another example of the BJP’s attempt to weaponize identity politics for electoral gains.

Nitish-BJP Alliance a ‘Marriage of Convenience’

Kharge mocked Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, calling him an “opportunist” who switches sides for personal gain. “His alliance with BJP is not for Bihar’s welfare, but for saving his own chair,” Kharge said, accusing the state government of failing to protect people’s interests.

A Call for Change and Legacy of Peace

Praising Bihar’s spiritual and cultural legacy, Kharge said the state has given the world messages of peace and harmony. “Lord Buddha attained enlightenment here and spread peace across the globe. Guru Gobind Singh was born here and taught us sacrifice,” he said. “It is time to choose ‘Buddh over Yudh’ — peace over conflict.”

The Congress president urged voters to throw out the Nitish-BJP government and install the mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance), which he said stood for secularism, social justice, and progress.

Present at the rally were senior Congress leaders including AICC Bihar in-charge Krishna Allavaru, PCC chief Rajesh Kumar, and a host of other state leaders.
